I grew up in St. Louis — the city I call home again today.
My passion for visual art began as a set painter and technician, studying theater and film in New York City — carving grass out of a board, painting enormous sets. At some point I hung an old sheet in my window and painted it; when the sunlight filtered through, it looked like stained glass.
Alongside design I studied the mind — eventually earning an MA in Counseling Psychology. The two have never felt separate to me: a portrait, like a person, rewards patient attention.
San Francisco's international community pulled me in. I took a degree in International Relations, danced Afro-Brazilian Samba, and found my footing as a graphic designer and illustrator, the work I've done ever since.

I lived in Honolulu for five years. I kept drawing the same stretch of Diamond Head — over and over, in different palettes — a study in how much a single scene can change with color alone.
