My Story

The name Nogginusers was inspired by my interest in psychology, the brain, and the emergence of creativity.

“Use your noggin,” my mom used to say.

My passion for visual art began when I was a set painter and technician while studying theater arts and film studies at college in New York City.

I loved walking around with a jigsaw, carving grass out of a board, and painting the enormous sets.

At some point I was moved to take an old sheet, hang it in my window and use it as my own canvas. After days of painting, I noticed that the sunlight, filtered through the paint, caused my wall-hanging to look like stained glass.

The burgeoning international community  community in San Francisco influenced me greatly. I earned a bachelors degree in International Relations and danced the Afro Brazilian Samba.

After college, I grabbed my sketchpad and backpacked around Europe, West Africa, Mexico, and South, as well as Central American.

My travels took me to London, where I studied video production, multi-media and drawing. When I returned to New York City I taught myself to use the AVID while cutting industrials and Jacky Chan trailers. Once again I longed for the West Coast. Back in San Francisco, I was given the opportunity to work as a graphic designer and illustrator, and have been working in that milieu ever since.
