PROJECT

These Streets are Full of Color Video Title

The streets are filling with the color of a local artist’s mural, introducing her work in the title.

ROLE:
Concept, Design, Illustration, Motion

CLIENT:
City of Columbia

DELIVERABLE:
Video/Web/Social Media

Challenge:
“The Streets are Full of Color,” a title given to me by the video producer, refers to the colorful work of a local artist who was participating in a the Traffic Box Art Program. The goal of the program was to simultaneously promote local art and prevent graffiti by painting traffic boxes. The challenge was to create a title representing streets, color, and the artist’s work.
Solution:
I chose a strong bold typeface to represent the City of Columbia as an urban entity with tall buildings. The script typeface represented the artist’s paintbrush, and was animated to appear hand drawn, eventually becoming the artist work and introducing the video. The dark background colors highlighted the bright colors of the artist’s work.
