Student Diversity Writings Multimedia Titles
Adding a playful visual twist to students’ poetry readings, this video brought energy and fun to the City of Columbia’s annual Celebrating Diversity event.
CHALLENGE:
Each year, the City of Columbia hosts a Celebrating Diversity event. This video, featuring students reading their poems on diversity, was to be part of the program. The producer provided a blank white canvas behind the talking heads and challenged me to “use your creativity.” The main challenge was keeping the audience engaged visually while honoring the students’ words.
SOLUTION:
To make the video dynamic and visually engaging, I overlaid playful illustrations, subtle animations, and colorful accents that complemented the students’ readings without distracting from them. The result was a lively, uplifting video that enhanced the poetry, held the audience’s attention, and celebrated the creativity and voices of the students.
