PROJECT
These Streets are Full of Color Video Title
“The Streets Are Full of Color”—a title provided by the video producer—referred to the vibrant work of a local artist participating in the Traffic Box Art Program, an initiative designed to promote local art while reducing graffiti by transforming traffic boxes into public canvases.
CHALLENGE:
The challenge was to design a title sequence that reflected the energy of the streets, the vibrancy of color, and the spirit of the artist’s work.
SOLUTION:
I selected a bold, modern typeface to represent the City of Columbia’s urban character and architectural skyline. To contrast this structure, I paired it with a script typeface symbolizing the artist’s paintbrush—animated to appear hand-drawn as it evolved into the artist’s actual work, seamlessly introducing the video. A dark background palette provided depth and contrast, allowing the artist’s bright, expressive colors to stand out and capture the theme of creativity transforming the cityscape.
